The Idea: The revolutionary design of the Grooveez wedge originated on the golf course itself. Two friends were in a golf tournament during which numerous shots needed to be made from around the greens - both from deep rough and dreaded sand traps that carefully guarded the greens on a difficult course.
After the tournament, the two discussed that a new and better club was needed for this purpose. The fact is, most pro golfers hit the greens most of the time but most amateurs don't. The fact is, most of the approach shots made by amateurs either fall short of the green, go over or fall to the right or left. What lies in these areas around the greens? Thick rough to catch your club and sand to foil your chances at par. The two friends suddenly realized that there needed to be a better club for this purpose - a club to let you get up and down from these trouble areas to make par and improve your score. And that's exactly what they invented  and patented - a club that could get you out of even the toughest shots - the Grooveez Wedge with friction release groove technology.

The Design: Using the latest computer assisted design and engineering techniques the two partners set about to make the perfect club. Many prototypes were made and tested in a process of continual refinement that took more than a year until the partners were satisfied that they had indeed perfected the ideal club - a club that could get the average amateur out of greenside trouble most anywhere it could be found. It also turned out to be the perfect club for the high lofted lob shot anywhere you needed it - a shot that flies high, lands soft and stops on the green. The secret is in the Patented design - a thick bottom flange to provide an extremely low center of gravity which gets the club under the ball to get you out high. This flange is embedded with deep grooves to provide the relief you need to cut through grass and sand with far less resistance than any other club you will ever use. The grooves also keep the club head square through the shot to insure that the ball goes where you aim it. Both the flange and the grooves are computer designed and tested.

Proof was in the Performance: Once the first prototype was perfected on the computer it was time to try it out on the course. Shot after shot out of the sand proved that this club worked beyond all expectations. The two met with a local PGA pro who dropped down a few balls, put a smooth swing on them and immediately commented: WOW - what a great feel to this club! Because it was explained that this club was for tough shots, the pro hit  the ball out of thick, deep rough, sand and then he even stepped on it - yes pressed it down deep into the turf!!!!! Still the ball came out with no problem! He also loved the offset hosel - claiming that it is "most forgiving" for the average amateur golfer. Over the next few months the club was tested by hundreds of golfers through marketing testing and focus groups in preparation for production - especially those who have trouble with the sand. That was years ago and we have yet to find a golfer whose play does not improve out of the sand or rough! In fact every golfer that buys this club loves it!

Where are we now? Since that first conversation about building a better club after the tournament the company has grown along with the demand for this incredible high tech club.
